Edward Ted Rowe Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2709, in Scranton Kansas is a fraternal, patriotic, historical and educational organization of those who have served their country in our nation’s conflicts abroad. We perpetuate the memory and history of our dead, and assist their widows and orphans; we maintain true allegiance to the government of the United States of America, and fidelity to its constitution and laws; and foster true patriotism; we maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom; And to preserve and defend the United States from all her enemies, whomsoever.
Post 2709 supports the veteran, the active service person, their family, and the community at large. Throughout the year we participate in community activities, donate time and funds to worthy causes, contribute to national and state VFW programs, and perform community outreach. We honor those who have died by serving and helping the living.
